Polk Halloween Parade

Oct. 31st a half day of school. Polk Panthers in all grades will participate in the annual Polk Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31st at 10 am. Students will exit through the kindergarten doors walk around the front of the building on the side walk and enter through the Board of Education. Students may wear a Halloween costume to school. Please leave any masks, weapons and other detachable accessories at home. Polk families are invited to see the kids parade outside the school. Let's hope for good weather:) Dismissal at 11:30 a.m.

Polk Construction Project

Construction begins Monday, October 20th in the Annapolis Parking Lot, Playground, and Sidewalks. Students will enter and exit Polk through alternate doors during construction. Please see map for temporary entrance and exit locations.

Our elementary schools are looking for help in our cafeterias. We are looking to hire lunchroom supervisors. The job consists of about 2 1/2 hours each day and pays $10/hour to start. If interested, please contact Char Cotton at 313-203-0343.

Halal Menu Options Coming Soon!

We are happy to announce that starting Monday, October 14th we will have a Halal meat option available for our students requiring their meals to be prepared in accordance to Muslim Law. The first week we will only have hamburgers available each day. However, chicken patties and chicken nuggets will be rotated in soon after. A note went home today with our elementary students only. Parents who would like for their elementary children to receive the Halal option should return the signed note tomorrow, Thursday, October 10th. Middle school and high school students will be able to ask for the option in the lunch line. Thank you!
