Welcome Polk Elementary School Community
It is an honor to introduce myself to you as the Principal of Polk Elementary School and to be a part of this extraordinary school community. Although I have earned several degrees including a Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, my love of learning continues. I lead a full and rewarding life where some of my most important roles are that of wife, mother and grandmother. My husband, Richard, and I have a wonderful marriage with two lovely daughters, two amazing grandchildren, and a couple of dogs who are tons of fun. Some of my other interests include gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
I was fortunate early in my career to teach Chemistry and Biology at Truman High School in Taylor, the same school I attended. After several years of teaching in the classroom, I served for three years as a School Improvement Coordinator which allowed me to work at the district-level on school improvement initiatives, curriculum development and staff development. Afterward, I accepted a position in District No. 7 as the Assistant Principal of Best Middle School.
It is a great privilege for me to currently serve as the Principal of Polk Elementary School. Polk has great kids who deserve the best education possible and I am passionate about helping each child reach his or her potential. I want all Polk students and staff to know that my goal is your success.
